It's getting dark earlier, there's a cool breeze in the air (at least today!) and the Halloween decorations have gone up in my house :). If I had to choose a favorite month of the year, it would definitely be October, with December running a close second. Part of why this is my favorite month is because we read a scary book for bookclub! I used to be addicted to Stephen King, loved Agatha Christie mysteries, but alas I can't handle the subsequent nightmares like I used to. So I appreciate a once a year return to staying up until 3am reading when I can't keep my eyes open any longer because I'm afraid to turn off the lights. I surprisingly take pleasure in this!
So four weeks from now we will be having our 3rd Annual Scary Bookclub and Costume party!!! Kristie has graciously offered her abode for the evening. Thanks, Kristie :) I'm really looking forward to reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, as I am a big fan of the original. Can't wait to see how Mr. Darcy takes on the zombies! Costumes are awesome, but not required so don't let that stop you from attending. Potluck dinner. You can find the list to the right side of the page.
